When you react to a person’s negative comments or actions in an angry, overly emotional or aggressive way, then you are giving that person power over you. If a person can easily get a rise from you, then you are no longer in control. If you take a moment and respond in a calm, healthy, honest and real way, then you are in control. You are not allowing anyone to take your power away, or involve a reaction from you. Unfortunately there are certain people who want nothing more than to make you look bad by provoking you to react in a hostile or negative manner. (Feel free to disappoint).

We often add to our pain and suffering by being overly sensitive, over-reacting to minor things, and sometimes taking things too personally.
Dalai Lama
Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.
John C. Maxwell
How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours.
Wayne Dyer
This is the key to life: the ability to reflect, the ability to know yourself, the ability to pause for a second before reacting automatically. If you can truly know yourself, you will begin the journey of transformation.
Deepak Chopra
Its not stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it.
Hans Selye
Most of us don’t spend any time knowing ourselves. We just keep reacting.

Humour allows us to see that ultimately things don’t make sense. The only thing that truly makes sense is letting go of anything we continue to hold on to. Our ego-mind and emotions are a dramatic illusion. Of course, we all feel that they’re real: my drama, your drama, our confrontations. We create these elaborate scenarios and then react to them. But there is nothing really happening outside our mind! This is karma’s cosmic joke. You can laugh about the irony of this, or you can stick with your scenario. It’s your choice.
