The soft cool flakes of gentle snow
when first it starts to fall
which makes of earth a featherbed
delights me most of all
For what surpasses beauty of
the moonlight upon the snow
which radiates a fairyland
upon the world below
And who but God can fashion such
as a lovely snowy night
which brings about a burst of joy
to all who witness sight?
Of childhood days, now long, long past
when snow so special be
I’ve not forgotten, nor will I,
For God gives memories.
