Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you’ve been, but also where you’re going. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.
Stephen Richards
How difficult we find it to just do nothing. To still our minds. To just “be”. It is probably one of the hardest things we can do. We run from pillar to post, our minds are always busy.
Practice just sitting outside on a chair and just staring up at the sky. Focus your mind on the brilliance of nature, on the sound of the wind, the chirping of the birds, the traffic, the plane going by. The children playing. We have so much to be thankful for and we need to slow down and take the time to enjoy the small things in life. The smell of flowers, the grass, the ocean. We are lucky to be here.
Slow down and enjoy each day. We can find 5 minutes in each day to just “be” – be still and know that we are exactly where we are meant to be.
We can be attentive to our own needs when we listen to our inner voice talking. We can achieve that only when we allow ourselves to quieten our minds.
