Sorrow
We should feel sorrow, but not sink under its oppression. There is no greater sorrow than to recall happiness in times of misery. The only way to take sorrow out of death is to take love out of life. Sorrow is knowledge, those that know the most must mourn the deepest, the tree of knowledge is not the tree of life.
There are moments when I wish I could roll back the clock and take all the sadness away, but I have the feeling that if I did, the joy would be gone as well.
Nicholas Sparks
Pain and sorrow and misery have a right to our assistance: compassion puts us in mind of the debt, and that we owe it to ourselves as well as to the distressed.
Joseph Butler
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes.
Do not resist them.
That only causes sorrow.
Lao Tsu
